Nihon Waters is seeking an enthusiastic, capable individual to join our Human Resources Team in Tokyo.
The appointee will contribute to the team’s success mainly from the Compensation aspect; he / she will have a key role in leading C&B efforts for our various business units.  At the same time, throughout the interactions with stakeholders, he / she will provide guidance on HR-related topics / issues.


  1. Implement and execute programs related to Compensation & Benefit; including (but not limited to) payroll, taxation, group insurance and pension, coordinate with vendors where necessary
  2. Revise and develop programs to ensure they meet Corporate guidelines and philosophy and local laws and regulations
  3. Assist in promotion and internal transfer cases
  4. Review HR Policies & Programs regularly to ensure compliance with local labor laws
  5. Provide consultation and advice to Business regarding C&B program best practices and issues
  6. Keep updated on market trends, identify potential issues, and make proactive recommendations
  7. Maintain HRIS and personnel database for Japan
  8. Prepare employee communication materials related to Compensation & Benefit
  9. Assist in cases related to salary adjustment, incentive, equity compensation, rewards, and recognition, etc.
  10. Administer mid-year and annual Performance Management processes, field inquires from Line Managers



  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related discipline
  2. Minimum 3 years of work experience in HR operations. Previous hands on experience in Payroll administration is required
  3. Strong understanding and working knowledge of applicable Japanese labor and employment laws and regulations
  4. Strong analytical and problem solving skills; able to work well both independently and in a team setting
  5. Proficient experience in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  6. Employee communications experience is preferred
  7. Knowledge of SAP will be an advantageBachelor's degree or equivalent is required
