Business Development Manager - Strategic Markets And Technologies  - will focus on developing commercial and technical strategies  to grow Waters presence in the Indian market with a focus on Waters core technologies of  chromatography and Mass spectrometry.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to identify  market trends and drivers, segment target market and customers, combining technical and commercial expertise to build dominant position in high growth potential  Indian market.

This individual contributor position reports directly to Vice President of Marketing Indian Operations .



Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for development and implementation of India field marketing strategy linked to strategic markets and technologies.

Leading tactical implementation of corporate strategies based on local requirements.

Analyze markets and opportunities - defining strategies to drive new markets are expand positions in strategic markets.

Analyzing markets conditions and sales results and initiate proactive measures to ensure  continued success.

Develop a deep , objective understanding of our business , markets , customers and competitors , provide subject matter and process expertise in designing and executing market research projects.


Customer Success :

  1. Ensure customer success by coordinating with the Waters Global Service Team, Regional Sales and Service Managers and the Application and Technical Support Team
  2. Constantly follow-up with customers and ensure they are successful with Waters products and initiate measures to achieve the same
  3. Arrange and conduct periodic training and educational programs to all our customers to ensure maximum return on their investments


Minimum Master's degree in Pharma/Life Sciences/Chemistry or a related field.

PhD and MBA degree preferred .

15+years market specific experience , preferably as a customer or thought leader in the field.

Strong strategic marketing and collaborative experience , developing strategic and long range business plans in collaboration with internal stake holders and external stake holders.

Demonstrated knowledge of developing customer needs, market requirements, product requirements and financial models.

This position will require 50% of domestic travel in India.
